The Gladiator

As the Gladiator waited for the door to open, his whole life flashed in front of his eyes,

All the glory he ever felt, all the lies he ever told, all the people he had lost and all their cries.

Amidst all the cheer, he had lived his dream, amidst all the darkness, he had lived as The Sun,

And today he was going in to fight, and today he was going all alone, with nowhere left to run.

All his life he had wanted this but today he felt scared, all his life he had wanted this but today he was afraid,

This would be his toughest battle yet because he could die, this would be his toughest because he would end up, slayed.

He wiped his forehead and put his helmet on, he took out and brandished the Sword, his only friend,

As he heard men shout his name, he braved a smile and decided it wouldn't matter if this was his End.

He was going against certain death today and he felt proud, he was sure to kill the Beasts like mice,

The Door opened and The Gladiator went in, fearless, his whole life flashing in front of his Eyes.

The Wounded Eagle

Blood dripping from our bodies, we all looked up and saw a god-send : The Wounded Eagle flying.

He reminded us of strength and honour, he reminded us of the fire inside, he reminded us why we weren't dying.

The mighty bird moved across the Sun, fearless and not afraid, as blood from it's wing began to pour,

And just when we lost hope, and just when we lost power, and just when we thought he was dying, he flew some more.

The look in his eye struck bravery in all our hearts, as we stood up and picked up our sword to fight the battle,

We decided to do away with the enemy ourselves, we decided to win this war even though our men lay like dead cattle.

Our wound dried up, still we didn't fall, our bodies were crying out, still we didnt fall, we couldn't move, still we didn't fall,

We had to win, failure was no option, we had to win, death was not winning today, no matter how loud and fearful it's call.

We had seen enough losses, now it was our win, we were going to win and call it a day, we had seen enough trying,

And with all hope inside, we looked up with a smile, and with all pride we saw : The Wounded Eagle still flying.

The Lone Soldier

All had perished on the battlefield, the enemy seemed to have won, yet the Lone Soldier didn't back down.

With a thousand men marching toward him - all with swords and blades, his face didn't show the slightest frown.

He held up his shield and brandished his sword, he stood up from the ground and cried the loudest cry,

If he was going to die today, he wouldn't feel bad, if he was going to die today, he would give it one last try.

He didn't care about the arrows which would pierce, he didn't care about the burning sun or the dry sand,

All he saw then was glory in the sky, all he saw then was his country, his place of birth, his MotherLand.

As the footsteps came ramming like bulls, he didn't even tremble and his guts didn't seem to drown.

He was losing, yet he picked his sword out and even when the enemy had won, the Lone soldier died but didn't back down.

Got to do this

As I washed the raindrops off my bane, I realised one was surviving today : My life or his.

As I looked into Death's eyes, his calm, horrible face, I realised : I got to do this.

So I rose, never minding the pain, so I rose, like a warrior from the Dead,

So I rose, trying not to fall, so I rose and brought my eyes back, oh so bloodshot Red.

I stood up, realising I had no plan up my sleeve, I stood up in the cold, hard rain,

I stood up and realised that to live, I realised that to survive, I had to go totally insane.

Then I went, went slashing, cutting and killing through them like sheep,

I didn't dare look at them, I didn't dare to hear their horrible weep.

When it was over; I had ended up cheating Death, avoiding again, it's warm kiss.

But as I saw Death fail, as I saw the bodies around me, I asked : How long have I got to do this ?

The Ugly Frog

There was a beautiful frog I met in my pond one day,

Thought this was it, thought I had finally met someone on my way.

She was the most radiant frog ever, I couldn't stop looking at her talk,

She had the most amazing smile, the perfect persona and the cutest walk.

I didn't count the number of days we spent, the number of flies we ate.

I didn't mind the scolding she gave, I didn't mind the hours long I had to wait,

I couldn't wait for eternity and so I went and asked her to stay with me forever.

I asked if we could grow old together, I begged her to leave me never.

She broke my green heart, she said this was too fast, she said she had to see the sea,

She said this pond was too small for her and she left for the world, she went leaving me.

I haven't heard from her yet sir, but I am sure you can help, I am sure you will try,

Can you tell her I miss her, can you tell her I am dying inside, can you tell her I still cry ?

Tell her it's me, I am on my knees asking her to come back, tell her that she is my Way,

Please tell her I miss her sir, tell her that The Ugly Frog is waiting. . .even to this day.

The Evil Smile

I know why I am smiling now, I know this is my win.

I know why I feel wicked, I know what power feels like - it's an evil jin.

Each tear you drop makes me feel alive, each fear makes me soar.

Each time you fall down I get hope, each of your cries is my roar.

At the end, I still hope you realise, it's not the way I won that counts,

It's the thrill, it's the feel, it's the pleasure, my friend , pleasure and it's amounts.

I am covered in blood, my body is shouting out yet I know I can bear.

Because it is this feeling I get of your defeat, it is my victory, that's what I care.

Come here while you are still alive, come here while you can still breathe, try to ask why.

Your downfall gave me this smile and I have won, my friend, I get this smile while you stay down, to DIE.
