Why me ?
EVery morning I wake up and see the Sun shine,
I ask him the reason for my whine.
I keep asking him if it's because of my flaws,
that I am stuck in The Devil's claws.
I always ask him WHY ME ? WHY ME ?
And all I get is YOU WILL SEE.
HE tells me there is a plan for all of us,
and that I am unnecessarily making fuss.
I will never know if that is true,
or if one day it will be right on cue.
Maybe one day I will be really free.
But still every morning I ask, " Why me ?
The pineapple Tree
I know everyone's life is one big highway,
But I will never forget one particular day.
I travelled into the lush green woods,
Leaving behind all my brown bag's goods.
I saw birds, animals and plants of all kinds,
And hyenas eating the leftovers with no dividends.
But that's not what this special journey was meant to be,
I saw a very tall, cone-shaped pineapple fruit tree.
Who threw down a fruit, probably showing welcome.
He smiled at me and I smiled back, not knowing the outcome.
He showed me the sparrow's and cuckoo's nests, the big leaves,
I felt very happy for myself for it tried no peeves.
It was twilght and i had to go home before it was dark
I waved now to my friend, who suddenly shouted, "Mercy be!"
There was someone cutting it down, it was no one but ME !
It was at this point that I woke up from my sleep,
Realising that I had gone into it very deep.
Then a tear rolled down my cheek for my tree-friend,
Who had to meet his pitiful end.
I will never know what this dream meant or what it tried to show,
But trees are friends too, please dont let them go ! :(
THE ONE
The Sun had risen as usual that day,
Not knowing what ahead lay.
As it dawned, people started dying,
Kids, men, women and mothers crying.
I realised this was the time,
Killing the Killer wasn't a crime,
So I started running through,
Dint watch the sky where the birds once flew.
I thought i was the One all along,
Until I realised everything was going wrong.
They were taking down Earth itself,
and one man couldn't do it - at least not by himself.
We were all blasting into pieces slowly,
While they stood there, smiling coolly.
And I realised - I, the One, that mother Earth was falling,
I fell down, dying but still. . . Crawling.
Poem 3
The Happy patient
I was walking along the park, depressed that I was going nowhere,
When I saw a group of sick, probably ill people standing there.
What actually surprised me was they were all playing and having fun,
Saw several unhealthy kids, both boys and girls, and I waved out to one.
He came running and exclaimed, "Good day sir ! How may I help you ?"
I said, " Why are you so happy ? Don't you know you are dying like them too ?"
Without a change in his expression, he said, "They tell me I have cancer and won't live.
I cannot go to school or even play with my friends, and I don't have much time upon my sleeve.
But sir, instead of waiting for death which will come anyway I decided to enjoy God's creation,
No problem if it's short or long, healthy or unhealthy, and end it with utmost satisfaction."
So saying, the child ran back to the group and continued jumping and trying a cycle stunt,
I walked back home but could not help a smile, realising what I had learnt.
Poem 2
DEATH IS NOT THE WAY
Never say die my friend,
It will all pay up in the end.
You have got so far,
and done things your imagination par.
Death is never the way,
your life is never the price you will pay.
Everyone has a misfortune,
all that matters is what keeps us in tune.
Never say die my friend,
it will all pay up in the end.
Poem 1
AS HE LAY DYING
From when he was young memories of which are now too blurry,
He always wanted to serve his motherland, his country.
So, after getting married he joined His Highness' army,
And served Himm leaving behind his father, his wife, his family.
Shortly, his country was in danger and so he was called for war,
The result of two kings' ego which had gone too far.
He bid farewell to his kid, knowing somewhere this would be the last time,
That he may see him again and hear his instrument's sweet chime.
And so he went and fought with bravery and valour for his Mother,
until I killed him and watched him fall down, watch him shiver.
He glanced at me and called me near to his side, gasping for breath,
And told me , " Son ! Please tell my people to bury me underneath.
Along with my sword and armor so that those who visit me may know,
That my sword, this war and bloodshed will frequently come and go.
But they will do nothing other than making a child an orphan and a wife a Widow. "
